OUR THANKS TO YOU...
One for the Record Books: Our Largest Crowd Ever!
That's a wrap! Whether you braved the elements in person, stayed home and watched the livestream or listened on WBGO HD2, the MONTCLAIR JAZZ FESTIVAL Downtown Jamboree was simply EPIC.
17,000 + Saturday’s festival set a new attendance record, drawing an impressive 17,200 music fans along the ½ mile stretch of Bloomfield Avenue, from Fullerton Avenue to Lackawanna Plaza. The festival also boasted close to 200 vendors presented by Rao's Homemade, a Family Jazz Discovery Zone presented by Amazon, an All-Star Alumni Stage presented by Jazz Cruises and a new Community Stage, to celebrate the vibrant and diverse town of Montclair with a jam-packed, exciting day of free, live music.

Mother Nature made an angry appearance at the festival. Unexpected severe weather forced a three-hour mid-afternoon delay due to lightning and heavy rain. But one thing jazz people know is how to is improvise. That muscle was certainly on full display with our festival team determined by hell or literally high water to get the music back on our two main stages. The 14th annual MONTCLAIR JAZZ FESTIVAL roared back to life with host Alonzo Bodden from "Last Comic Standing" helping to keep the mood light.
Melanie Charles | Houston Person of Person 2 Person |
Michael Mwenso and The Shakes | Regina Carter |
Attendees were treated to three more glorious hours of performances from artists like Antibalas, Michael Mwenso and the Shakes, Regina Carter, Christian McBride's New Jawn, and Melanie Charles. Thanks to our incredible lineup of headliners, and the staying power of our fans, volunteers, and supporters, we ended on a fantastic high note. That's the resiliency of true community building, which is what JAZZ HOUSE is all about.
SPECIAL THANKS
We thank Essex County, the Town of Montclair and Montclair Center BID for their partnership in making this possible. We extend a special thank you to our presenting sponsor, BDP Holdings LLC and David and Bridget Placek for their extraordinary commitment to this event. Their support was the backbone that allowed this festival to be as successful as it was.
Lastly, we'd like to give a big shoutout to a few of our supporters who made our festival experience sublime: West of Hudson Real Estate, Joe's Tea, Egan & Sons, Montclair Brewery and WBGO. Cheers!
